Three Strong By-Election Candidates

Wow, The Ontario Liberal Party has three strong Candidates running in By-election and you know what, it looks like they have a chance at all three.

Police Chief Brian Ford running in Nepean-Carleton for the Liberals against Tory Insider Lisa MacLeod, I think the Tories have an extremely weak candidate here and while this may be a tory stronghold, I think this could go Liberal because Ford is well known.

Well known toronto Broadcaster Ben Chin running in Toronto-Danforth against a former city councillor Peter Tabuns. Peter Tabuns will make this a close race but Chin has the upper hand because he has the name recognition.

Finally, Former Liberal MP Judi Longfield running in Whitby-Ajax, she has a very strong chance at winning. She might face off against Ian McNeil who she beat in 2004. I think she has a good chance of winning this seat. It would be kind of funny if she won because it would almost mean that Longfield and Flaherty switched spots.

I wouldn't count on Ben Chin's name recognition. Bob Hunter ran for the provincial Liberals too and lost - and I daresay, Bob Hunter as a journalist and co-founder of Greenpeace has far more name recognition.

On top of it, I think Ben is supporting the Liberal plan for a waterfront power plant ... Big mistake. He should take the playbook of Bas Balkissoon from Scarborough-Rouge River - pretend like Dalton McGuinty doesn't exist.

I think the NDP has that one.

Judi, I don't think has a chance in Whitby-Ajax. She's up against Christine Elliott. Christine will have the same ground troops and support that Jim Flaherty had.
